If you are a soup lover like me, oh boy do I have a recipe book for you! It's called 12 Months of Monastery Soups, and it is AWESOME! It contains over 150 soup recipes! I was given this last year as a Christmas gift from a very dear friend and I've spent all year trying to make as many of the recipies as I could. I've made over 30 of them so far and plan on trying a new one tonight. They vary from ingredient heavy to ingredient light, and while I encountered a few duds, most of them were very good and had some surprising combinations that I would've never thought of on my own, yielding extremely good results. The Brussel sprout and leek soup is just one of them. It was so good it was one of the soups that I've made twice already.

So with the holidays on their way again, I'd definitely recommend this recipe book as a lovely gift for your favourite foodie on your list. Bon appetite!
