Life has many funny lessons to learn from. Just the other day my wife informed me that our son has a school project the next day that requires bird feathers, and a LOT of them! To make it even more fun it was late at night and she was preparing our son for bed. Other than chasing down a duck in our neighborhood, I was in search of bird feathers in whatever stores were still open.

I was told that Publix (local grocery store) had a craft isle and "should" have them .... So the quest begins. I asked the obvious question to the store employee if they have any bird feathers. Well I was looked at like I came from another planet. He even want as far as saying “you know we sell food, right”. In between him laughing I tried to ask where I could find any? Of course that was no better of an answer.

So just about giving up, I thought about it for a moment and asked a different person ... "do you have any hand dusters". The answer was a quick, ya on isle 3. Low and behold there were many different dusters with natural bird feathers !!!!!!

Lesson here is think before you jump ;) I could only imagine the other parents in the class driving around frantically looking in craft stores, or people chasing around their neighborhood ducks at 10:30 at night so their child is not disappointed. Poor ducks ...

In life it does not matter how fast you run. If you are not going in the right direction, you will never get to the finish line!

Best of luck in your travels.
